On this cloudy summer day,I was fortunate to see several adult wild Bull Elephant, swimming in Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe. They were very impressive to see, they splashed through the red coloured mud,to graze on land.They eat the plants & leaves around the islands of the Lake and take on the colour of the mud that they coat themselves with as protection from the heat & insects.
(I was safely sitting in a boat! ). I wanted to give an idea of their size they can be (11ft tall & weigh 2 tons).
The Elephant are sadly heavily poached for their Ivory tusks.
